Parents of current Gr 09 and 10 students,
If you happen to have a child who has some free time in the second half of August, then there are a few opportunities you should know about :) Camosun College is offering a week-long program for students in the areas of Carpentry, Welding and Automotive. The only charge is a non-refundable $35 registration fee. The key information is provided below; you can also see the attached poster to get a better sense of what to expect. These programs are for students in grade 8 - 10. Students will be responsible for bringing their own lunch; and wearing steel toed shoes and appropriate dress (long pants, no tank tops, long hair in a ponytail, etc) Each program has 18 seats available and will be located at Camosun Interurban. Each program will be led by a Camosun College instructor and will be focused on hands-on exploration within each specified trade. Once students are registered in a program, more details will be sent out. Each program will run for the following weeks: Carpentry August 13 - 17 9:00am - 2:30pm Welding August 13 - 17 9:00am - 2:30pm Automotive August 20 - 24 9:00am - 2:30pm If you have any questions, send an email to [email protected]. Finally, please note that these programs will fill up fast, so interested students should send in their applications as soon as possible.
