MANDATORY for GRADE 11 students- PLEASE CHOOSE ONE PRESENTATION TO ATTEND OPTIONAL for Grade 12 students (with teacher permission) WHEN: Tuesday November 13,2018 TIME: 9:10 - 9:50 (2nd half of block A) WHERE: Camosun College - Theatre UVIC - Library WHAT: Representatives from each school will be speaking about their programs and admissions Both Camosun and UVIC will be in attendance at our PSI mini fair for those that are interested in information from both of these schools. ALL Grade 11 & 12 students will be attending the Post Secondary Institute mini fair with their BLOCK B teacher/class during a scheduled time throughout BLOCK B (10:10-11:30). Check out the posters around the school to find out which schools will be in attendance!

SAT Free Info Session / SAT Practice Test / SAT Preparation Course - St. Michaels University School10/1/2018 WHAT? FREE Information Session (RSVP: [email protected]) WHERE? St. Michaels University School, 3400 Richmond Road, Copeland Theatre WHEN? Thursday, October 11th, from 7:00-8:00 pm WHAT? SAT Practice Test WHEN? Sunday, October 21th, from 8:30am-12:30pm COST? $20 The benefit of the Practice Test is to expose students to an authentic exam, in a simulated test environment, without the actual stress of being a real test with accountable results. After writing the Practice Test, students will receive a detailed score analysis to help understand both their strengths and areas requiring further study. Results provide both a quantitative and a qualitative score, with specific information related to skills and content areas. The cost of the first practice test is $20. Students can then decide whether to sign up for the full SAT Preparation Course, which will run from Tuesday, October 30 until Thursday, November 29. This course is timed to prepare students for the December 1 SAT Exam. The cost of the full course is $750. Students who take the practice test and then sign up for the full course will receive a $20 discount. PARENTS AS CAREER COACHES – WORKSHOP ON MONDAY, OCT. 22, 6:30 – 9:30 PM, RICHMOND ELEMENTARY GYM9/18/2018 We are excited to present our third Parents As Career Coaches (PACC) Workshop.
PACC is a free evening workshop for parents of middle and secondary students happening on Monday, Oct. 22, 6:30 – 9:30 pm, Richmond Elementary Gym. PACC workshops have been happening all over the lower mainland for the last four years. Marion Haythorne has been leading these workshops, helping parents assist their children make educational decisions and career choices. Through a variety of interactive exercises, parents explore their own values, interests and skills. Then, they can go home and do these same exercises with their children, help them discover their values, interests and skills, and match them to potential education and career pathways. |
